The Farmhouse ''Hiddensen No.2''

Hiddensen No.2 is the old number of the farm, the modern address of which is 27, Diekstrasse. The farm is a typical example of historic architecture in this region, which it is why it is listed as a protected monument.

The foundations date back to the 12th century. The mighty, half-timbered main building was, in its current form, built in 1848. It reflects the typical architectural elements of this region.

Particularly remarkable are the richly decorated gables. The pictures offer a first impression of the building, which has entirely preserved its original character.

The farm also consists of an old barn and a well, both significantly older.

The Region

The village Hiddensen is situated in an historically and environmentally interesting area. It lies between the mountains of the 'Weserbergland' and the flat region 'Norddeutsche Tiefebene', directly on the border of the woods 'Schaumburger Wald'.

The region traditionally has a dense infrastructure, at the crossings of which rich settlements have developed, today offering well preserved inner-cities, beautiful monestaries, churches, castles and farms.

Being situated in the middle of a vast system of bicycle-routes, Hiddensen is an excellent starting point for bicyle trips to explore nature und culture of the region.

If you prefer to explore the region further or go to Hannover, you can use the local trains leaving from Stadthagen every 30 minutes. We can give you a lift in our car to the station on our way into town or arrange to pick you up on our way back.
